Ms. Anita is proud to be celebrating her 30th year as a dance teacher. She has a teaching degree from the University of Calgary where she also studied jazz dance. She is a certified teacher with Acrobatique Arts, and is trained in RAD and Adapt. Many of Ms. Anita's dance students have moved on to become dance teachers, as well as professional dancers. Ms. Anita is known and loved for her fun, high-energy classes and she is looking forward to another great dance season.

Karen Dixon Brennan
Owner, Director, Tap Director, Hip Hop
Ms. Karen has danced since the age of three in Calgary and has completed her advanced levels of tap, ballet and jazz! She has studied many dance syllabuses and has performed in several venues around the city. She has participated in dance festivals throughout Alberta, B.C and the U.S. She has taught at various studios around Calgary and has been praised for her energetic, upbeat teaching style and her engaging choreography. Ms. Karen is very enthusiastic to share her love of dance with her students and looks forward to another year of dancing!
Preschool, Ballet, Jazz/Tap
Miss Alexis has been dancing in all styles of dance since she was two years old. She has participated in various dance conventions, as well as dance events in high school. She has also taught summer dance camps at the University of Calgary with a broad range of age groups and abilities. Some of the styles she has taken include: ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and acro. Alexis has enjoyed teaching with Instep for the past few years and is very excited to be returning this year.
Having danced in Calgary from a young age, Ms. Megan has studied a variety of styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, musical theatre and west African dance.
She has experience performing in theatre and dance with companies such as Alberta Dance Theatre and Centre Stage. She also has experience with scenography and direction in a theatrical environment.
Ms. Megan is currently at the University of Calgary working towards a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education, where she is also studying dance.
Megan is excited to start another year with the Instep Team!
Miss Leandra is one of Miss Anita's former students and has been dancing since the age of three. She has danced both recreationally and competitively and is trained in Jazz and Contemporary and has experience with Tap and Ballet. Miss Leandra student taught at Instep Dance for six years before joining the Instep Team as a teacher. She looks forward to being a part of the Instep Team again this year.
Instep School of Dance Teacher Assistant Program
The Instep Dance Teacher Assistant program is made up of a group of dedicated and enthusiastic student volunteers developing their interests in dance education. If you would like more information about this program, please contact the office.
